Congratulations to the Wall Inferno Girls U16 team for winning the Presidents Cup sub regional by beating a Virginia Arsenal team to advance to the semi finals for Region 1. The must win game for the Inferno started with Arsenal going up by 1 goal. The Inferno responded but had the goal called back for off sides. The second half saw the Inferno score off a corner kick headed in by Kelly Mitchell. Arsenal then scored again going ahead by 1 goal. The Inferno scored again with Samantha Juska’s left footed shot to the near post beating the goalie to tie the game but it was short lived as Arsenal scored yet another goal. The Inferno countered by scoring a goal by Taylor Mize to once again tie the game. We were now in stoppage time when Taylor Mize scored a sliding kick goal off an assist from Claire Donohue to go ahead with about a minute to go. Arsenal could not mount a challenge in the time remaining. The Inferno will represent New Jersey in the Presidents Cup Region 1 semi and finals in Kirkwood Delaware on June 20^th and 21th.

U10 Tryouts are Friday same time as scheduled last week.

 The Wall Wombats who were making their 3rd straight trip to the State Cup finals. Finally got the gold after a hard fought match vs. PDA Charge 2-1. The Wombats feat was made more impressive by the fact that they played a player short for almost 33 minutes in the 2nd half. The team had a player red carded which left them to play 10 vs. 11.

In the final minute of the match Cassidy Bentinente got a through ball and ran onto and toe poked the ball into the back of the net for the winner. One minute after that goal the Wombats were crowned NJ State Champions. Making them the 2nd Wall girls team to win the Cup in the past few years the other being the Wall Strikers in 2007.

Now the team will be preparing for a trip to the Regional Championships in West Virginia July 2-7th

The Wall Soccer Club had a great first ever NJYS President Cup tournament. The U14B Terminators were crowned Champions as well as the U16G Inferno. The two teams worked their way through the tournament and did an amazing job to become Champions.

More on Wall Inferno - Congratulations to the Wall Inferno U16 Girls for their inaugural Presidents Cup win. The Inferno will travel to Kirkwood Delaware for the sub regional competition and depending how they do there will travel to Kirkwood again for the semi and finals of the Regional tournament. The Inferno played a total of 5 games scoring 22 goals and only letting in 4 goals during the President’s Cup. The final game saw 4 girls score goals, 3 of them 2 goals each and 1 with a single goal. The team was formed at the last hour as plans for two teams disappeared. Great job girls and good luck in the Regions.

WALL SOCCER GIRLS PROGRAM # 3 Club in NJ # 89 in USA

In December, National Soccer Rankings finalized there Club rankings for the US. In these rankings on the girls side Wall Soccer Club was ranked # 89 in the nation. Within these rankings there was only two NJ Clubs above Wall Soccer Club on the girls side. These two were PDA and MLU respectively. The Wall Soccer girls program has two teams that are ranked TOP 2 in NJ and also Nationally ranked, Wall Strikers U19 girls, Wall Wombats U15 girls and the Wall Lizards U13G . These three teams coupled with other teams being in the Top 10 in NJ has put Wall Soccer on the MAP in girls soccer regionally.
